Tips To Know About Piano Sight Reading Practice

These tips are designed assuming that you are already well versed with the basic knowledge of playing the piano. These tips will help you to learn the way in which you can easily read the music sheet or practice reading it.

The first tip that goes on the top is a very general one. When you start playing the piano, never look down to your hands, just as you do while typing.  The below words will help you read the notes just the way you read the words in the book.

1.    Start reading your music notes even if you don’t have the piano with you. This will help you in sight reading practice and get it to your memory.

2.    Mistakes are common when you are learning. So don’t give much importance to these mistakes and keep playing. Chances are that the listener will never know about it if he/she is listening for the first time and you are playing with confidence.

3.    One of the hardest parts of sight reading practices is to count out loud to get the correct rhythm. So make sure you count out loud “one and two and three and four and five and six......”  Keep in mind the piece while counting.

4.    Don’t forget to check the sharps and the flats as they are really important. Double check any note which you feel is not in the staff.
